Obsessive Cleaning Disorder

​"Obsessive Cleaning Disorder LLC represents my personal journey of incorporating mental healthcare into my daily living.  It started with burnout, then seeking and confirming an adhd diagnosis (...which then led to others!) and evolved into a greater journey toward peace of mind.  I quit my decade long career in software, to start over. To me, the name reclaims the word ‘disorder’ and highlights my strengths. While I respect that the name is controversial, I have thoughtfully engaged with people who shared similar experiences as myself, across varying types of "disorders" whether obsessive-compulsive, neurodivergent, or otherwise to ensure my choice was not objectively harming to them, while easing my own anxieties and finding my own peace with my version of it.  Human feelings vary widely, of course, so while I also respect the opinions of those who feel hurt by my mission and "cutesifying" such a debilitating condition - which is not my goal - turning a ‘mess’ into something that can bring comfort and peace of mind, is why I do what I do.  My old roommate used to say "it has to get messier before it gets cleaner" and I fully endorse it.
